As the Covid-19 pandemic has affected many of our lives in ways we have never imagined, many of our members, family and friends, and people in our communities are struggling. It is times like this when our union and its membership can really make a difference. Our friends at The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank have reached out to us for support. The food bank has been delivering supplies to those in need at an astonishing rate, and supplies are becoming more and more scarce.

With the difficulty of holding traditional food drives and the decrease in monetary donations over the past few months the food bank could really use our support. Last year the at our Carpenters Food Drive we collected over 35,000 lbs of food and supplies which according to the Food Bank was the largest donation ever in a single day, proof that when we carpenter’s work together we get it done. This year due to the pandemic Local #432 is holding a donation by GIFT CARD ONLY DRIVE.

Any member that is willing to help is encouraged to please do so. Donations will be accepted at the Carpenters Regional Council Building 650 Ridge Rd Pittsburgh Pa. 15205.

There will be a drop box at the main entrance of the council building from December 1st thru December 31st 2020 weekends and evenings included. Donations MUST be a gift card in the amount of $25 to one of the following locations; GIANT EAGLE, COSTCO, or TARGET.

Any member who donates a $25 gift card will receive U.C.A.N. credits as follows;

• (1) $25 Gift Card will equal 1 UCAN credit
• (2) $25 Gift Cards will equal 2  UCAN credits.

IMPORTANT NOTE: WHEN MAKING YOUR DONATION, TO RECEIVE YOUR U.C.A.N CREDIT YOU MUST PLACE YOUR GIFT CARD(S) IN A SEALED ENVELOPE WITH YOU NAME AND UBC# PRINTED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE ENVELOPE.
